I'm always on the lookout for a quick and easy baby project that I can whip up in an hour and give as a gift. I recently was told about this great tutorial on youtube by The Missouri Star Quilt Co. It's a self binding baby blanket and it's fantastic. The video tutorial is very well done and Jenny explains the process with lots of warmth and personality.
I was able to have 2 fabrics from the new Tilda range - Country Escape - sent to me to use for my baby blanket. The range is gorgeous and I love the two fabrics I chose.
I love this tutorial! The blanket comes together quickly and easily and the two layers are "quilted together" by sewing a fancy stitch on your machine down the seam line. I chose a simple 4 petal daisy design:
I'm over the moon with the results. The Tilda fabric has a beautiful feel to it and any mother would love to wrap her baby in it.
Give the Self Binding Baby Blanket a try - you won't be dissappointed as you will be able to whip up a gift in no time.
Take care....Di
This was the sweetest easiest and prettiest gift for a baby I've seen yet. Thanks so for sharing

Can you use a cotton piece of fabric for the 40 inch side?

This would make a pretty pillowcase too.
