New Bag Pattern

I thought I would show you a new pattern that has just come onto the market. It's "Smocked with Buttons Bag" designed by HM Textiles. This bag can be made from Japanese printed or plain fabric and the tiny buttons that are required to complete the bag are included inside the pattern.  I love the tiny pleated boxes that are across the top of the bag and the buttons that secure them...very sweet.

Ask your local patchwork store if they are going to stock the pattern as they are available now.  I do know that this, this & this store have ordered them and QuiltEssentials is having the designer - Hiroko - teaching a class on November 19th so if you live in the Brisbane area or not too far away, book into the class and learn from Hiroko herself.

Take care...Di

Bed of Roses

I love it when new fabric ranges are about to be released. We have some wonderful ranges coming out over the next few months and I just couldn't wait to share them with you. One of my favourites is from Northcott and it's called Bed of Roses (dist. in Aust. by Lloyd Curzon Textiles). I haven't even received my sample cards yet but I have some graphics to show you:

This range is soft and romantic and I can't wait to get a hold of some of the fabric so that I can have a play. It should be in Australian retail shops by about April.

Now I know that Christmas is a long time coming...but you can never start too early. I'm a bit of a Christmas fan....and when the artwork arrived for this range - Ho Ho Ho by Maywood Studio, I fell in love with it's softer colour scheme mixed with traditional designs. This is only a sample of the prints that will be available.

And to use this range, how about the new "Festive Tree Skirt" pattern from Raggedy Stitches (distrubuted in Aust. by Ascot Lane)

Treeskirt

And while we are talking about new patterns....I just adore Margaret Rolfe's pattern "The Peace Quilt" (distributed in Aust. by Ascot Lane). If you have a collection of Oriental prints..and you've been waiting for a project to use them in, then this is the one.

Isn't it gorgeous!?

If you are looking for an original, fun graphic for valentines day cards, have a look at Anna Maria's site. She has posted a design that you can download and print out on card stock here.  It's based on one of her fabric designs, and it has a "Quilty" feel to it.

I'll be posting some exciting new fabric ranges that will be making their way into Australian shops, over the next few days.
