On The Road

Sometimes my sales trips involve a very early moring start. I love the early morning...it's the best time of the day, especially when you get to see the sun rise...

On The Road

Life as a Fabric rep involves a lot of driving and I enjoy being able to see the many seasons of our landscape. Yesterday the Wattyl was out in full bloom along the roadside. It's a wonderful sight to see masses of golden blooms waving gently in the breeze on both sides of the road. The Golden Wattyl is Australia's floral emblem and it is an amazing flower with the most delicate pom pom like blossoms of the most brilliant golden yellow.

On the road

Although as I travel, I often get to see beautiful landscape and stunning coastlines, sometimes it's a simple flower or a piece of nature that can captivate me and grab my attention. My timing was perfect recently while away for work up north, as this beautiful tree was in full bloom:

The branches were just full of blooms and it was such a stunning sight especially against the perfectly blue sky.

Does anyone know what type of tree this is? I think it's a pink trumpet tree but I'm not sure.

On The Road

Sometimes it works out that I get a lunch break. It doesn't happen very often as I am usually  running behind and racing to the next shop, trying to catch up. It's often hard to predict how long you will be at each store selling fabric as it all depends on how many customers can walk in the door at that moment and need the store owners help. When this happens, I just wait - not that that's a bad thing as I'm sitting in a Patchwork shop where inspiration is all around me! The other day I was running ahead of time for once and I stopped just up the road from my next appointment and grabbed a bite to eat. This was the view:

It's a look to the left...

and a look to the right.

Look in the middle.....

and look out to sea.

I think I like lunch!

On The Road

The other day I was stopped at roadworks. I have to tell you that Queensland is full of roadworks at the moment. I'm sure it's  because of all the flooding we have had and the damage to our infrustructure, but it looks like the councils have to use their budget up by a certain date and they are going crazy doing all the roadworks they can to try and spend it all by the deadline!

Anyway, it was late in the afternoon and I was on my way home and not happy to be stopped again. I tried glaring at the man holding the "STOP" sign but he just wouldn't turn it around. Finally I looked out my side window and looked up...and this is what I saw:

Gorgeous Australian bush!

I was so busy trying to photograph it, I nearly missed the "GO" sign.

On The Road

Sometimes being on the road as a fabric rep, allows you to see a little magic....

Rainbow 1

It doesn't last long...just minutes of the magic of a double rainbow.

Rainbow 4

I hope you are having an easy breezy lazy Sunday. :-)
