Emerson's Quilt

In joining in the fun over at the Bloggers Quilt Festival at Park City Girl, I thought I would post about a quilt that I made for one of my best friends first born child. A stitchery quilt and pieced quilt. I really enjoyed making this special keepsake. This was the first time I had tried a prarie point border and I was surprised at how easy it all went together.

As it was a baby gift, I cut out small hearts and gave them to the Mum to Be, to hand out to her close family and friends. Each person wrote a special message to the baby and I appliqued them onto the back of the quilt:

It's a lovely way to record such a special event. I think this has been one of my favourite quilts to make and I know it is very loved!
