I would use the new Scarlet fabric range by Clothworks. I love poppies and this range is beautiful with it's tonings of not only black and red but also touches of sand and putty:

I would use the fabrics from Northcott's Cosmopolitain range in Dove Grey
I love this range. It has a modern theme to it so will work well in the bedroom above but the fabric also has a linen look in the printing which gives it some texture.
I would use this pattern: Boxtrot designed by Deanne Quill of Creative Sewlutions
Cosmopolitain will be arriving in Australian Stores in September.

I would use the new fabric range "Bollywood Bliss" designed by Jane Spolar of Quilt Poetry for Northcott:
Bollywood Bliss has all the colour and style of a great Bollywood movie. It has a beautiful over-sized repeat print that is full of rich exotic designs as well as a select group of stunning co-oridnates that work together brilliantly.

This is not exactly a room but a cozy corner:
Its the type of corner that I would love to have in my house....one day! But I think - as lovely as it is - it could use a quilt and with Christmas just around the corner I think I would use the Stonehenge White Christmas range by Northcott - not available until June next year but it's never too early to start planning!
And I would use this quilt pattern: Festive Frostings by Patti Carey. I love the simplicity of it.

If this room had a quilt I would love to use the new range of fabric by Northcott called "Groovin" designed by Jane Spolar of Quilt Poetry.
I really like the soft palette of grey and butter in the room above. Groovin also has this palette but with a bit more depth in some of the designs:

I would use the lovely range of fabric called La Belle by Northcott. It's intricate ethnic designs would match perfectly with the bedroom design above and blend in with the colour palette. To add a punch of vibrant golden yellow, I would go to Northcott's new Colourworks Premium Solids and use either the rich shade of 9000-54 or the softer lighter shade of 9000-540.
La Belle will be arriving in Australian Stores in September.

Classic black and white but with a eclectic mix of old and new furniture, this living room's quilt could easily be made out of the new Flor D'Luna range by Maywood. It also has a mix of traditional and modern prints that blend harmoniously. The most striking feature of this range is it's large border stripe. Not all black and white ranges have a border stripe, and this one is a winner:

I often get inspired by beautiful bedrooms and can quickly see one of my fabric ranges fitting perfectly with the bed linen and the colours of the room. So I thought I would start a new column called "If this room had a quilt...." where I will show a bedroom that has caught my attention and what fabrics I would use to make a quilt to fit into the room.
Today I saw a gorgeous bedroom that is so soft yet so elegant. The soft taupe colours work really well with the grey walls. I could just see myself snuggled up on that bed with a good book and a cup of tea.
