The folks at In The Beginning Fabrics are definately favourites of mine and I always look forward to arriving at their booth and catching up with them. It was a wonderful surprise when I arrived to see Michele Hill's gorgeous smiling face sitting behind one of the sales desks. Michele is from Adelaide in Australia and has designed three William Morris inspired ranges for In the Beginning Fabrics. Her latest range Dear William is about to arrive in Australian stores. This was Michele's first visit to Quilt Market and the first time she had met the In The Beginning Team so she was just beaming!!
In The Beginning have designed their first "solids" range called Modern Solids. They are marketed as the "Solids that aren't quite solid!" as the cloth is made of 2 different coloured threads that are woven together to create an amazing fabric. They have a more "earthy" tone than most solid ranges which tend to take on a "fresh" palette.
They have also released their first range of batiks called Floragraphix Batiks. They are a limited collection by Jasen Yenter and they are lovely.
And lastly I just adore designer Jennifer Heynen and she has released her latest range which is a Christmas line called "It's Christmas". Jennifer has a unique style that is bright, fun and whimsical.
This range of fabric won't be arriving in stores until June 2013. Yep - the shops are buying Christmas fabric for next year already!!
Take care...Di
